Managing Hip Pain With Chiropractic Treatment

Managing Hip Pain With Chiropractic Treatment

Without even realizing it, your hips are one of your most important body parts. We rely on them for everything from flexing and kicking to simple walking. If you experience constant pain in one or both of these most essential body parts, it’s difficult to move. But your suffering – whether chronic hip pain or as a result of injury – does not have to continue.

It’s time to manage your hip pain with chiropractic treatment. To develop a plan of pain management and treatment, the chiropractor will first diagnose your condition. From there, a number of techniques may be used.

Chiropractic care may be able to help the following causes of hip pain…

Trauma

Traumatic injuries are far less subtle than injuries gradually occurring from overuse. The pain can be severe and immediate if you dislocate or break your hip. When you fall and/or slip, your muscles and ligaments may be squeezed, sprained, or tensed, even if no bones get broken. For weeks, you could be bed ridden resulting from the pain of these injuries.

Overwork/Overuse

The tendons, ligaments, and muscles of dancers, athletes, and other physically active people are frequently subject to being overworked and overused. The joint itself, plus surrounding ligaments, tendons, and muscles, becomes irritated and inflamed. An active lifestyle is difficult to maintain when this happens. Regular visits to a chiropractor may help prevent wear and tear on joints from eventually becoming arthritis.

Sciatica

From the pelvic area to the feet, down the back of the thigh, the sciatic nerve extends. Sciatica is a result of irritation or inflammation of the sciatic nerve. The condition can be due to pressure or injury on the sciatic nerve. A bulging disc could be included here as well as osteoarthritis, herniated disc, or spinal degeneration. In various places on your body, radiating pain can be caused by sciatica. This includes the hips, back of the legs, and lower back.

General Inflammation

Hip pain can be caused by an inflammation known as arthritis. But this is not the only type of inflammation that can occur. As a result of an illness or injury, a joint can become inflamed. You will feel pain because the joint is filled with fluid or blood and space is limited.

Outside the hip joint, bursa (small gelatin like bags) can be subject to inflammation. Bursitis – which is what this condition is referred to – is frequently the result of minor trauma or overuse of the joints.

In the hip, pain can actually be caused by any part of your body being inflamed. As an example, inflammation of the spine and inflammatory bowel disease can, surprisingly enough, cause hip pain.

Arthritis

OA, or osteoarthritis, in older adults, is the main cause of hip pain. It is an inflammatory joint disease. It produces a progressive loss of cartilage, joint degeneration, swelling, and rigidity.

RA, or rheumatoid arthritis, also causes joint pain as another inflammatory disease. This, however, is not caused by attrition. Rather, as if it were a foreign invader, the body attacks healthy tissue. It is an autoimmune disease.
