Patient FAQ
Do you accept medical health insurance?
Amongst other types of health care services, we provide post motor vehicle accident care; therefore, we accept auto insurance benefits, not medical health insurance.
Do I still have to open a claim under my own car insurance if the accident wasn’t my fault?
In Florida, drivers are required to carry personal injury protection (PIP) insurance, which covers medical expenses and lost wages when a person is injured in an accident, regardless of who is at fault for the accident. This means that even if the accident wasn’t your fault, you still will want to open a claim under your own auto insurance to cover your medical expenses and/or lost wages. As we do not provide legal advice, you are encouraged to consult an attorney for further information.
In situations where the other driver is at fault for the accident and you have suffered serious or permanent injuries, you may be able to pursue a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver to seek additional compensation for your damages. In such an instance, it’s important to consult with an experienced personal injury attorney who can advise you on the best course of action and help you navigate the claims process.
Can my primary care physician see me for my accident?
Most primary care physicians will refer you to clinics like RejuvenX that specialize in diagnosis and treatment of injuries commonly associated with motor vehicle accidents, as well as compliance with reporting and documentation requirements. Many primary care physicians lack both the experience and desire necessary to effectively treat, document, and adhere to the specific requirements associated with such patients.
If you are injured in a car accident and need medical treatment, contact RejuvenX for a same-day appointment at (941) 697-3001. We have several convenient locations throughout Florida to best serve you.
Do I need a lawyer if I’m involved in a car accident?
An experienced personal injury attorney can help you navigate the possible challenges that arise from an automobile accident. The decision to hire an attorney rests with you as RejuvenX does not provide legal advice.
What types of injuries can be treated at RejuvenX?
Musculoskeletal injuries, including but not limited to injuries to the neck, low back, shoulder, knee, and most joints.
What should I do if I am involved in a car accident?
In Florida, it’s crucial to seek medical attention immediately after a car accident. This can help document your injuries and set up a record of treatment, which is important for insurance and legal purposes. You have 14 days after the accident to seek medical attention to be eligible for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance benefits, which provide coverage for medical expenses and lost wages. Notify your insurance company as soon as possible after the accident to report it and supply necessary information.
If you’ve been in a car accident in the state of Florida, there are several important steps you should take:
- Check for injuries
First and foremost, make sure everyone involved in the accident is okay. If anyone is severely injured, call 911 immediately. - Move to a safe location
If possible, move your vehicle to the side of the road or another safe location. This can help prevent further accidents and injuries. - Exchange information
Get the contact and insurance information of the other driver(s) involved in the accident. You should also provide your information to them. - Document the scene
Take photos of the accident scene, including any damage to your vehicle and any injuries you or your passengers may have sustained. - File a police report
Contact the police and file a report. This is important for insurance purposes and may be required by law. - Notify your insurance company
Contact your insurance company as soon as possible to report the accident and provide any necessary information. - Seek medical attention
Even if you don’t feel seriously injured, it’s important to seek medical attention after a car accident. Some injuries may not be immediately apparent and can worsen over time, including hair line fractures, internal injuries, and back, neck and head pain. Remember, you only have two weeks from the date of the accident to seek medical attention to be eligible for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance benefits, if you do not establish a record of treatment within that period, the benefits will no longer be available.
Can RejuvenX refer me to a medical specialist if needed?
Yes. If your injuries do not heal with conservative care, RejuvenX can refer patients to medical specialists, including surgeons, neurologists, and others depending on the specific health care needs of each patient.
